As you know I foster – a ten year old little girl.
I thought this could be the perfect tool for her to give a whirl.
She suffers from anxiety and the odd bad dream,
Which sadly take a toll on her tiny self esteem.
She previously had a monster where you post your worry in his lips,
But she wouldn’t express her troubles despite all the clever tips.
This handy little pocket kit I felt maybe the perfect trick for us,
To get our little ‘sweetheart’ to trust and open up to discuss.
We opened the box very carefully taking everything from the pack,
Conversation cards, a journal and a cute portable worry plaque.
She quickly tried the worry plaque placing her thumb firmly on the top,
Illuminating red then green meaning your worry should quickly stop.
Red signals the fairies have heard and are working on your worry,
Green means the magic worked; taking the worry in a hurry.
The worry plaque is small and easily used in discreet,
At just a few inches wide it’s very practical and sweet.
The little worry journal is cute for writing notes,
It’s pretty and very childlike, securing both our votes.
The last piece in this kit was my very favourite part,
Conversion cards prompt the correct conversions for adults to try and start.
If your worry was an animal what would it be and why?
A clever way to communicate with my child who’s ordinarily shy.
We managed a simple discussion about her challenges at school,
And how she would like the opportunity to go swimming in a pool!
I’m thoroughly impressed with this little tool and handy little kit,
It did more than what we ever bargained and proved a huge big hit.
I definitely recommend the worry plaque for a child of any age,
To open up and speak freely with out the conversation sounding staged.
