A huge raw erupts as thunder claps on stage.
A stage sized gorilla escaped from its cage.*
Roaring very loudly at the top of its lung.
At the corner of my seat from where I had sprung.
My three year old screaming along with the crowd,
A bellowing bang which was frighteningly loud.
Abananza played by Marti Pellow of Wet Wet Wet fame.
Whilst David Robbins plays the very comical dame.
Ricky K as Wishee Washee stole the show for me,
A very energetic performance which was magical to see.
Alexis Gerred plays Aladdin in the magical show,
Lighting the stage in the enchanting panto.
Following the story of the magic lamp,
Where inside lives a genie with years worth of cramp.
Granting three wishes, Aladdin choses to leave the cave,
And with a puff the genie is gone, without a wave.
The tale set in ‘Old Peking’ – Oh Yes is was!
Including lots of panto slapstick which gathered applause.
The show was to a high standard with beautiful dancers galore.
A very professional performance with acting that had me in ore.
The first half ending with the carpet taking its flight.
Fluttering very daintily; a spectacular sight.
Collecting glasses as the bell for the second half rang.
Entering the theatre as the cast all sang.
A lively routine with Wishee Washee and Twankey prancing on stage,
The audience all howling no matter their age.
The 3D movie then put the whole theatre on edge,
My son screaming behind me, from where he had wedged.*
Every member of audience letting out a fearsome scream.
Colliding with snakes and spiders like the most horrific dream.
Then – playing with demons, Aladdin takes on a snake with a sword,
The scary staged sized creature soon becomes floored.*
Retrieving his lamp back, Aladdin makes his last wish,
Within an instant; a happy ending after one final swish.
*Please be aware that various parts in this show may be very loud and scary for children with a nervous disposition. The very start of the show is extremely loud, with an almighty bang with no prior warning.
